Presentation of the Aging
Together Plan for Supporting Older Residents of Virginia’s
Rappahannock Rapidan Region Including Culpeper, Fauquier,
Madison, Orange and Rappahannock Counties |
|
Fauquier County had been
participating with the other local governments in our region
in preparing a strategic plan to serve the elderly
population. To develop the Plan, a coalition, known as Aging
Together, was formed, comprised of private citizens and
public, private, and non-profit entities serving the
elderly. After nearly two years of work, the group has
developed the Plan for Supporting Older Residents of
Virginia’s Rappahannock Rapidan Region. This effort is
funded in part by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, with
matching funds from Fauquier County and other public and
private organizations. The Plan identifies needs and
strategies in the areas of service expansion, workforce to
serve the elderly, wellness, information to assist seniors
and caregivers, County and regional collaboration, and
financial support. The summary report is available at the
website below and will be available in printed form at the
meeting. |
