A Resolution Authorizing the Joint Sharing of Operational Costs for the Warrenton-Fauquier Visitor Center

 

Topic Description:

The Town of Warrenton, which currently operates the Warrenton-Fauquier Visitor Center, has made a request that Fauquier County share in one-half of the Visitor Centerís annual operational costs.  This matter was discussed at a recent meeting of the Town/County Liaison Committee and that Committee unanimously agreed to recommend that the Board of Supervisors agree to a cost-share arrangement.  The FY 2007 operational costs are estimated to be $83,176.  The Countyís share, if the resolution is approved, would be $41,588.  By way of comparison, the Countyís last shared payment was in FY 2004 in the amount of $62,500.  The attached resolution approves sharing one-half of the operational costs for the Visitor Center and directs that an appropriate cost-share agreement be prepared and executed.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
