A Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of 18.7915 Acres from Humphrey Family Limited Partnership for the Runway Protection Zone for the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport and Application for and Acceptance of Grant Funds for the Purchase

Topic Description:

Fauquier County has negotiated a contract for the purchase 18.7915 acres from Humphrey Family Limited Partnership for the Runway Protection Zone for the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport for $765,000.  The County has applied to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) for grants to acquire the property.  The contract is contingent upon receipt of the grant within 120 days of its ratification.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
