A Resolution Authorizing the Application and Acceptance of Grant Funds and the Award of a Bid for Site Work for T-Hangar #4 at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport

Topic Description:

On April 14, 2005, the Board previously authorized a lease agreement with Essar Aviation, LLC for a land lease to construct a fourth T-Hangar at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport.  Fauquier County has received bids for the site development portion of this work.

The Virginia Department of Aviation is expected to consider funding for the fourth T-Hangar at its meeting on August 14, 2005.  The lease agreement requires Essar Aviation to provide the 20% local matching share for construction and construction management services.  In order that the work can proceed in a timely manner, the resolution authorizes the award of the bid for site work to General Excavation, Inc. in the amount of $719,935 subject to the award of State funding.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

This project will be fully funded from contributions by Essar Aviation, LLC, and a grant from the Virginia Department of Aviation.
