|
A Resolution Initiating a Text Amendment to Article
4, Part 3 Section 4-301
of the Fauquier County
Zoning Ordinance to
Clarify that the
Provisions of the Zoning
Ordinance’s Historic
Area District Do Not
Apply to Rural Historic
Districts Designated on
the Historic Registers
of the Commonwealth of
Virginia or the U.S.
Department of the
Interior.
|
|
Topic Description:
|
|
Citizens living in existing or proposed rural
historic districts have
raised concerns that
designation of a “rural
historic district” by
the Commonwealth or the
U.S. Department of the
Interior would lead to
County adoption of
architectural review or
other regulatory
impositions on the
properties within such
rural historic districts
under Section 4-301.
This resolution
initiates an amendment
to the Article 4, Part
3, Section 4-301 to
include language making
it expressly clear that
the provisions of the
Historic Area District
do not apply to rural
historic districts
designated by the
Commonwealth of Virginia
or the U.S. Department
of the Interior.
