on the Installation of Television Recording Capability for
Governmental Meetings

Topic Description:

|
The purpose of this work
session is to update the Board of Supervisors regarding the
installation of television recording capability in the Warren
Green Meeting Room. Staff
will review the recommended basic
set-up and discuss additional audio-visual options and a
proposal to install television-recording capability in the Board
of Supervisors Conference Room.
The installation of this
equipment is tentatively scheduled for completion in early January
2004, once the renovations to the
Warren
Green
Building
have been
completed.

Requested
Action of the Board of Supervisors:

|
Provide guidance to staff
regarding whether or not the staff should proceed with the current
installation plan, and which, if any, of the options the Board may
also wish to include.

Financial
Impacts Analysis:
|
|
As part of the Cable
Franchise renewal, Adelphia provided $61,345 in the form of an
initial equipment grant, to support governmental programming.
Of this total, $15,000 has been earmarked to support the
equipment needs of the School Division for their planned
educational channel. The
remaining $46,345 is available to support this plan.
The cost of the basic plan is estimated to be
$36,675.
The total cost, including all options presented, is
estimated at $48,375.
