A
newly enacted provision in the Code of Virginia authorizes the
County to assess a $25.00 inmate processing fee and to add this
fee to the court costs of any individual who is admitted to jail
following a conviction.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

|
Hold
public hearing to recieive citizen comment and consider adoption
of the attached
Ordinance.

Financial Impacts Analysis:
|
|
Additional
revenue to benefit the Sheriff's Office by offsetting the costs of
processing arrested persons into local or regional jails.
