ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO SECTION 3-314.10 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO
PERMIT FARM EQUIPMENT SALES, RENTALS AND SERVICE IN THE RURAL
RESIDENTIAL-2 ZONING DISTRICT WITH SPECIAL PERMIT APPROVAL FROM THE BOARD
OF ZONING APPEALS AND AN APPROVED SITE PLAN WHEREAS, the Rural Residential-2 Zoning classification is included in the Rural Zoning District category by the Fauquier County Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, farm sales, rental and service are permitted in the Rural Agriculture district, which also is classified as a rural district; and WHEREAS, this amendment would permit the location of farm equipment sales, rentals and service establishments in the Rural Residential-2 Zoning District; and WHEREAS, such establishments could be located only following a public hearing and the issuance of a special permit by the Fauquier County Board of Zoning Appeals; and WHEREAS, site plan approval would be mandatory after receiving the special permit; and WHEREAS, this amendment would be in keeping with the spirit of Fauquier County’s rural zoning districts; now, therefore, be it ORDAINED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 19th day of August 2002, That Section 3-314.10 of the Fauquier County Zoning Ordinance be amended to permit the location of farm equipment sales, rentals and service establishments in the Rural Residential-2 Zoning Districts following special permit approval by the Fauquier County Board of Zoning Appeals and site plan approval.
