Topic: A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE LEASE OF SPACE TO THE FAUQUIER FREE CLINIC AT THE FAUQUIER COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING AT 320 HOSPITAL DRIVE

The Board is considering the allocation of space in the basement of the 320 Hospital Hill building and has received a request from the Fauquier Free Clinic for the use of some offices previously occupied by the Dialysis Center. The Fauquier Free Clinic provides important health services to the community utilizing many citizen volunteers.   Efforts to identify space at the nearby Warrenton Volunteer Rescue Squad building were unsuccessful.  Space contained in two existing offices of approximately 350 square feet on the ground floor has been identified for this purpose.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors

Hold public hearing to receive citizen comment and consider adoption of the attached resolution, which authorizes the lease of space to the Fauquier Free Clinic for a fee of $1.00.  The lease will contain a five-year term with a provision for termination upon six-months notice; similar to other leases provided to support the services of non-profit volunteer based programs.

Fiscal Impact:

The allocation of space to the Fauquier Free Clinic will be completed as a part of the final phase of renovations at 320 Hospital Hill.  The impact will be a reduction in space available to other County departments.
