PROCLAMATION A
PROCLAMATION TO RECOGNIZE THE HEROISM OF TIMOTHY MACK WHEREAS,
on September 1, 2001, seven year-old Timothy Mack, a resident of the Lee
Magisterial District and member of Cub Scout Pack 1105, demonstrated great
bravery, quick thinking and heroism through his rescue of five year-old
Payton Dale from a potentially life threatening situation in a
neighborhood pool; and WHEREAS,
Timothy Mack has been recognized for his actions by the Boy Scout National
Court of Honor and has been awarded one of the Boy Scout's highest honors,
the Heroism Award for Lifesaving along with a gold Medal of Heroism and
Boy Scout Life Saving Badge; and WHEREAS,
the Board of Supervisors wishes to commend Timothy Mack for the heroism he
demonstrated on September 1, 2001, and for the outstanding example he and
the other members of the Boy's and Girl's Scouts of America set for
citizens of all ages; now, therefore; be it PROCLAIMED
by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 19th day of
August 2002, That the Board of Supervisors does hereby commend Timothy
Mack for his selfless act of bravery and heroism in saving the life of
five year-old Payton Dale; and, be it PROCLAIMED FURTHER, That the Board of Supervisors does hereby congratulate Timothy Mack upon his recognition by the Boy Scouts of America and extends its best wishes to Timothy Mack for continued success in Scouting and all future endeavors.
