RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING IMPLEMENTATION OF A COUNTY ADMINISTRATION/COUNTY
ATTORNEY SALARY MARKET STUDY WHEREAS,
in the year 2000, an executive level market study was initiated by the
Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS,
this market study assessed County Administration and County Attorney
salaries in neighboring/comparable localities and identified Fauquier
County as being substantially below market; and WHEREAS, as part of the FY 2001 budget process, the Board of Supervisors approved increases to the County Attorney’s and County Administrator’s compensation levels; and WHEREAS,
the second half of the executive level market study has been completed by
Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates and Associates; and WHEREAS,
this market study assessed Deputy County Administrator, Deputy County
Attorney, Assistant County Administrator and Assistant County Attorney
salaries in neighboring/comparable localities and identified Fauquier
County as being approximately $6,000 below market; and WHEREAS,
based on this market study, a recommendation is made to adjust the salary
levels of the aforementioned positions by $6,000 (pro-rating this amount
for one part-time position); and WHEREAS,
these recommended actions are in conformance with Personnel Policy 22,
section IXA – Pay Adjustments to Pay Plan as a Result of Salary Surveys;
now, therefore, be it RESOLVED
by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 19th day of
August 2002, That the salaries of the aforementioned positions be
increased by $6,000 based on the results of the recent market salary
study.

by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 19th day of
