SUBJECT:      Initiation of Fauquier County Subdivision Ordinance Text Amendments to Update the Ordinance to Reflect the Proposed Stormwater Management Ordinance

The County Engineer's Office has prepared a proposed Stormwater Management Ordinance, which, if adopted, would be added to the County Code.  Based on that proposed ordinance, several text amendments should be made to the Subdivision Ordinance.  The proposed language for these amendments is still being refined.  Staff suggests that if the Planning Commission agrees to initiate the process to adopt the Stormwater Management Ordinance that the companion Subdivision Ordinance text amendments also be considered.

If the Planning Commission agrees to initiate the proposed amendments, the following motion is provided:

In accord with Section 13 of the Subdivision Ordinance, the Fauquier County Planning Commission hereby moves to initiate Subdivision Ordinance text amendments to various sections of said Ordinance to incorporate the necessary references and revisions to reflect the proposed Stormwater Management Ordinance.

The Commission wishes to advertise the amendments for public hearing at its April 25, 2002 meeting.
