PROCLAMATION
A PROCLAMATION TO RECOGNIZE THE CONTRIBUTION OF CHRISTOPHER BUR SALMON TO THE CITIZENS OF FAUQUIER COUNTY
WHEREAS, Christopher Bur Salmon was born in Washington, D.C. on December 17, 1940, the son of United States Marine Corps Brigadier General Ronald D. Salmon and Marion Bur Salmon; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Bur Salmon was a distinguished veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving as Lieutenant Colonel flying UH-34 helicopters for two tours in the Vietnam Conflict, where he was decorated numerous times for acts of valor, including the Silver Star; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Bur Salmon’s career in public service in Fauquier County was distinguished by his exemplary and dedicated execution of the duties of his position as Johnsongrass Inspector from 1999 until 2005, as Coordinator of the Blue Ridge Brain Injury Association, as publisher of a not-for-profit local newspaper, and as developer of a government resource guide and business directory; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to express its deep sense of loss following the untimely passing of Christopher Bur Salmon on May 5, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Bur Salmon, is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia Ann Salmon, sons Stuart Christopher Salmon and Timothy Bur Salmon, daughter Deidre Ann Salmon Hays, and grandchildren Quentin Thomas Hays, Emily Victoria Hays and Christopher John Hays; now, therefore, be it
PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of September, 2005, That the Board of Supervisors does hereby wish to recognize the many contributions of Christopher Bur Salmon to the citizens of Fauquier County, and extends its condolences to his family.
