Topic: A Resolution to Approve Travel Expenses for Technical Education Conference for Soil Scientist

Topic Description:

Fauquier County’s adopted Personnel Policy Section 51 (“Travel Policy And Procedures”) requires Board of Supervisors’ approval when expenses for travel will exceed $1,000.  The Department of Community Development requests approval for the County Soil Scientist to attend training at the 13^th Annual Technical Education Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The training available includes innovative wastewater systems and technology, re-use, recycling and reclaiming wastewater.   The conference is intended to assist in County efforts resolving failing drainfields in Catlett and Calverton, and sewer efforts in Midland.  Training costs are $650, lodging and meals are estimated at $475 and travel costs are estimated at $305, totaling $1,700.  The training will take place November 7-10, 2004.  Funds are available through the utility fund (Catlett/Calverton).  The attached resolution would approve the requested travel and related expenses.

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
