A Presentation by Deborah Williamson and Deanna Child Regarding the Farmer’s Online Market Program

Topic Description:

In 2009, the first Farmer’s Online Market (www.farmersonlinemarket.net) was begun in Fauquier County under the direction of Farmer Girls, LLC. It is the goal of integrating agriculture and technology to provide a market for locally grown agricultural products and to provide customers with fresh, locally grown produce at a reasonable price. Customers can order online from a variety of products, and their purchases will be packaged and ready for pickup at the Vint Hill distribution point. This is a new business venture and holds promise as an innovative approach to local agriculture marketing and distribution.

Conduct the work session.
