A Resolution Reimbursing Range 82, LLC, for its Expenses Arising Out of the Application for a Special Exception for a Public Training Facility

Topic Description:

The Fauquier County Sheriff has indicated a need for shooting range to qualify his deputies.  The Chief of the County’s Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management and the Fauquier County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association have indicated a need for a fire training facility.  The County approached Range 82, LLC, regarding a public private partnership seeking to locate these two training facilities at Range 82.  The location of these facilities would require the issuance of a special exception for a public training facility.  Range 82, LLC, expended $24,572.00 on the special exception application.  The resolution, if approved, would reimburse Range 82, LLC, for those expenses.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The fiscal impact of this resolution is $24,572.00, which will be drawn from the Fire Training Center/Firing Range Capital Project fund.
