RESOLUTION A Resolution Designating Fauquier County as the Applicant to Re-Submit an Amended Nomination for the Inclusion of Springs Valley on the Virginia Landmarks and National Registers WHEREAS, the historic area of Fauquier County known as Springs Valley includes a number of historic structures, pristine rolling farmland and boasts a rich and varied history; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has been approached by landowners in the Springs Valley and other citizens of the County requesting that the Board agree to act as the applicant to the Virginia Department of Historic Resources for a Virginia Landmarks and National Register Nomination for Springs Valley Rural Historic District; and WHEREAS, the landowners and citizens will be providing to the Board of Supervisors a completed application and the funding necessary to file and process the application with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources; and WHEREAS, the Virginia Landmarks and National Register Designations are high honors to bestow on a community and Fauquier County has been the applicant for fourteen (14) nominations that have been successfully listed on both historic registers since 2002; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 11th day of September 2008, That the Board does hereby decree itself the applicant for a Springs Valley National Register Nomination to the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, the Virginia Board of Historic Resources, and the National Park Service; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the County Administrator, be and is hereby, authorized to take all actions necessary to process a nomination for a Springs Valley National Register Historic District nomination; and, be it RESOLVED FINALLY, That all costs necessary to have the designations bestowed shall be borne by the private landowners and citizens requesting the Board to act as the applicant for these designations.
