Topic: 

An Ordinance to Authorize Affordable Housing Grants to Local Government and School Employees Within Fauquier County

Topic Description:

Fauquier County has proposed to afford local government and school employees with assistance in the form of grants or loans to assist the employees in purchasing homes.  In order to authorize such a program, the County must adopt an Ordinance. The County Administrator is preparing administrative guidelines that will set forth the specific implementation of the program.  Pursuant to the terms of the proposed Ordinance, the administrative guidelines must be adopted by the Board of Supervisors.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached Ordinance.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The proposed Ordinance is subject to availability of funds and as such has no financial impact.  The administrative guidelines to be adopted by the Board will establish the extent of any such impact.  The initial program will rely upon grant funds.
