A Resolution in Support of the Bishop’s Run Project

Topic Description:

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Virginia Department of Historic Resources (VDHR) will be meeting on September 17, 2007, to discuss the issuance of the Nationwide Permit Application for Bishop’s Run (Project Number: 04-R2991).  This process started in 2004 and, following this meeting, the USACE is expected to issue the permit.  Angler Development, LLC, has completed all the required permit element requirements, including additional cultural resource investigations pursuant to Corps direction.

Angler Development LLC has requested that the Director of the Department of Community Development attend the referenced meeting to respond to any questions regarding project consistency with the adopted New Baltimore Service District Plan or elements of other approved or pending applications.

It needs to be noted that the New Baltimore Fire & Rescue Facility is located in Bishop’s Run, and the County is still waiting the required land dedication.  The associated site plan, building permit, and the critical USDA loan are pending final approvals. County ownership of that land is a critical piece to the USDA loan. Any further delay in that dedication becomes a critical problem for the construction, timing and delivery of this emergency services facility for the community.
