Pursuant to Section 33.1-229, of the Code of Virginia

On May 11,
2006, the Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution to
abandon a section of Sowego Road (Route 611) at the request
of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). With
that request, 0.04 miles of the old location of Sowego Road
was to be abandoned. VDOT is now requesting that the County
approve the acceptance of the new section of Sowego Road
into the Secondary System of State Highways. |

Consider adoption of the attached resolution. |

2006, the Transportation Committee recommended approval of
the abandonment and acceptance. |
