Resolution Authorizing The County Administrator To Schedule A Public Hearing To Receive Citizens' Comments On The Proposed Use Of Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Funds

Topic Description:

The federal government provides limited funding for law enforcement through the Block Grant Program, through which Fauquier County has been awarded a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant in the amount of $12,353.  The Sheriff's Office proposes to use this grant money to help fund overtime payments for traffic enforcement.  Terms of the grant require that a public hearing be held to allow citizen comment on the proposed use of these funds.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Authorize the County Administrator to advertise for a public hearing for the October 20, 2003 Board of Supervisors meeting.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The required local match of $1,373 is available in the Sheriff's budget.
