A Resolution to Amend the Lease with Midland Development Corporation for the Construction of a Third T-Hangar at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport

Topic Description:

The Warrenton-Fauquier Airport Committee has reviewed a proposal from Midland Development Corporation to lease property under the terms of an existing agreement for the construction of a third T-hangar.  Subsequent to receiving this proposal, Fauquier County was successful in obtaining grant funds for 80% of the design costs related to site improvements for the hangar.  The proposed lease requires Midland to provide the local matching share of the grant.  

The proposal from Midland for the thirty-year land lease is consistent with the layout of the airport master plan.  Midland proposes to provide funding for the local share of the design and site improvement grant, as well as pay an annual lease payment of $.37 per square foot.  The Airport Committee has reviewed the Midland proposal and recommends approval.  Attached is the proposed lease agreement.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Hold a public hearing to receive citizen comments and consider adoption of the attached resolution.
