Topic:

An Ordinance Amending Chapter 7 of the Code of Fauquier County Changing the District and Precinct Boundary Lines for the Warrenton Precinct of Center Magisterial District and Casanova Precinct for the Cedar Run Magisterial District

Topic Description:

Currently the boundary line between the Warrenton Precinct of the Center Magisterial District and the Casanova Precinct of the Cedar Run Magisterial District follows the 1990 boundary line of the corporate limits of the Town of Warrenton .  On June 16, 1992 , the Circuit Court of Fauquier County entered an Order approving a boundary line adjustment moving the corporate limits from its 1990 limits to the centerline of Turkey Run.  The 2001 decennial redistricting Ordinance amending Chapter 7 of the Code of Fauquier County did not take into account the 1992 boundary line adjustment when describing the boundaries of the Warrenton Precinct of Center Magisterial District and the Casanova Precinct of the Cedar Run Magisterial District.  Chapter 7 of the County Code should be amended to take into account the 1992 boundary adjustment.  In addition, the description of Warrenton precinct is being modified to take into account the Wal-Mart boundary adjustment.  According to information received from the Registrar ’s Office the areas to be adjusted do not contain any citizens of Fauquier County .  This is because the property is zoned for industrial and commercial uses.
