Topic:
A Resolution Directing
the County Administrator to Schedule a Public Hearing on a
Proposed Ordinance Amending Section 13.5-3 of the Code of Fauquier
County to Add Subsection (D) Prohibiting Excessive Noise Caused by
Engine Braking Except for Responding to Bona Fide Emergency
Occurrences
|
|
|
|
Topic Description:
|
|
Supervisor
Winkelmann has received complaints from a Center District resident
living along the Warrenton by-pass that trucks are causing
excessive noise by engine braking.
Engine braking involves the use of the engine to brake the
vehicle which creates greater noise than the use of wheel brakes.
The proposed resolution directs the County Administrator to
schedule a public hearing on draft ordinance making engine
braking, except when needed to respond to a bona fide emergency, a class
one misdemeanor.
