Topic:  West Nile Virus

Topic Description:

Representatives from the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Cooperative Extension Office will update the Board of Supervisors on the status of the West Nile Virus in Fauquier County. In addition, they will provide information on personal protection strategies and residential and community mosquito population control measures/strategies.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Conduct work session on the West Nile Virus.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

No specific fiscal impact has been identified at this time; however; should the County initiate a spraying program in the future, based upon a recommendation from the Virginia Department of Health, the cost of such program would be the responsibility of Fauquier County.
