A Resolution to Authorize the Adoption of Human Resources Policy 55- Telecommuting

Topic Description:

The Governor of Virginia has requested that government move to telecommuting options for employees.  In response, the Telecommuting Policy is being proposed.  Telecommuting will assist in alleviating the need for additional office space, as employees that telecommute can operate out of “shared” work spaces while continuing to operate efficiently.  In addition, telecommuting is “green” and will assist in environmental preservation efforts.

All requests for telecommuting will need to be reviewed by Human Resources for validity and approved by the County Administrator.

Human Resources Policy 55, Telecommuting, has received the endorsement of the Personnel Committee.
