Topic: 

A Resolution Directing the County Administrator to Schedule a Public Hearing to Consider an Ordinance to Classify Personal Property Owned by Middleburg Humane Foundation Exempt from Taxation

Topic Description:

Middleburg Humane Foundation has requested that its personal property be declared exempt from taxation.  Prior to adopting an Ordinance which declares the property of a charitable organization to be exempt from taxation, the Board of Supervisors must conduct a public hearing.  The attached resolution directs the County Administrator to schedule a public hearing to consider the request from Middleburg Humane Foundation for exemption from personal property taxes.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The fiscal impact of this action based upon the current assessment and current personal property tax rate would be approximately $832.49.
