Topic: 

An Ordinance to Create a Special Taxing District to Provide for the Upgrading and Maintenance of Streets in Bethel Academy

Topic Description:

The residents of Bethel Academy have submitted a petition requesting that the County create a special taxing district in order to provide for the upgrading, repair and maintenance of the streets in Bethel Academy.  Upon completion of the streets to Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Transportation Standards, the streets would be placed in the State System of Highways for maintenance.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached Ordinance.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

As proposed the County would advance the cost of the improvement project and recuperate the expenditure over a 10 year period through the special taxing district revenue.
