A Resolution to Authorize the Establishment of  the Position of Reassessment Coordinator

Topic Description:

The Reassessment Project within the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office will commence on July 1, 2008.  Prior to the commencement of the project, a Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued that incorporates many of the recommendations from the 2006 Board of Assessors.  This document will be prepared and reviewed by the Reassessment Coordinator.   Office space will need to be procured and outfitted in coordination with the General Services Department, the Information Technology Department, and to a lesser extent, the Commissioner of the Revenue Office.  It is imperative that a single point of contact be designated as early as possible so that identified requirements can be programmed into the work load of the affected agencies.

The position is to be established for a 2 year period.  The position responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing reassessment functions; researching, evaluating and selecting appraisal firm;  interpreting and ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local policies, procedures, rules, regulations, laws and standards; preparing, administering and monitoring department budget

This position will be reallocated to the Information Technology Department, therefore, increasing the department’s Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) by one position.
