Topic: 

A Resolution Requesting that County Residents Employ Voluntary Water Conservation Practices

Topic Description:

Due to the prolonged and persistent drought conditions, Fauquier County is requesting all residents voluntarily conserve water usage to preserve water resources. Scattered rainstorms have occurred in the previous months; however, the evaporation rate has been extremely high, negating the effects of the sporadic rainfall. Stream flow has been reduced and groundwater reserves are being affected resulting in both surface and ground water deficits.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
