Topic: 

A Resolution to Exercise the Right to Audit the Records of Expenditure of Public Funds of Fauquier County’s Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies in Accordance with the Adopted Fire and Rescue Services Agreement

Topic Description:

Under the Fire and Rescue Services Agreement adopted by the Board of Supervisors, the Board has the right to audit the records of volunteer companies.  This is a resolution to exercise that right.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The Finance Department anticipates a cost of $3,000 to $5,000 to retain an independent firm to perform an audit of each of the thirteen companies.
