A Resolution to Approve a
Contract Amendment to the Automated Technology Solutions
Contract |
|
Topic Description: |
|
The contractor is at work in
the Data Center at the Alice Jane Childs building to provide
enhanced reliability and security for the County and Schools
computer systems. The contract was awarded to Automated
Technology Solutions on April 14, 2006 in the amount of
$423,420. As the work is nearing completion change orders
totaling $137,270 are recommended. The change orders
include an increase in the size of the generator and
associated electrical changes to support both the data
center and public safety radio system. It also provides
additional and improved space for the IT department. A
second change order pertains to the relocation of the
microwave connection for the public safety radio system from
the Sheriff’s office to the Alice Jane Childs building.
Improvements are required in the penthouse that will house
the radio equipment. These contract changes require Board
action since they exceed 25% of the original contract
amount. The Facilities Planning and Implementation
Committee has reviewed and approved these changes.
