Topic: 

A Resolution to Award a Contract to General Excavation, Inc. for Site Work for the Third T-Hangar at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport

Topic Description:

Fauquier County is in the process of developing a third T-Hangar with Midland Development Corporation.  The T-Hangar is consistent with the Airport Master Plan and has been approved by the Airport Committee, and the Board of Supervisors previously approved the land lease for the third T-Hangar.

Fauquier County has made application to the Virginia Department of Aviation for a grant to fund approximately 80% of the associated site costs.  Our lease agreement requires Midland Development Corporation to provide the 20% local share match for the grant.

Two bids were received and evaluated by Campbell and Paris Engineers.  After negotiations, it is recommended that a contract in the amount of $585,000 with the low bidder, General Excavation, Inc., be executed.  The award of the contract is subject to the approval of State funding that will be considered at the October 20^th meeting of the Virginia Department of Aviation Board.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
