| A Resolution Authorizing the Acceptance of FY 2003 Local Law
Enforcement Block Grant Funds

The Federal government
provides limited funding for law enforcement through the Block
Grant Program. A
program requirement is to conduct a public hearing concerning the
use of these funds, which are anticipated to be $12,353 in the
current fiscal year. The
Sheriff’s Office proposes using these funds to help fund
overtime payments related to traffic enforcement.

Requested
Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Conduct a public hearing
to receive citizens’ comments and consider adoption of attached
resolution.

Financial
Impacts Analysis:

|
The
required local match of $1,373 is available in the Sheriff's
budget.
