the Revision of Human Resources Policy 17, Employee Performance Evaluation
Topic Description: The Personnel Policy Review Committee is a group that meets regularly to review policies contained in the Human Resources Policy Manual. The Committee has recommended revisions to Policy 17, Employee Performance Evaluation. The recommendations result in a reduction in the number of employee performance rating categories from six to three, with the following categories remaining: Exceeds Standards Meets Standards Does Not Meet Standards. Upon
presentation of these recommendations to the Personnel Committee, the
Personnel Committee opted to send the recommendations to the full Board.
The item comes from the Personnel Committee with no formal
committee recommendation and is identified as resolution and draft policy
“Alternative 1”. In addition, the Personnel Committee directed that a second resolution be brought forth to the Board. This resolution, identified as “Alternative 2”, does not alter the existing performance category numbers, but addresses administrative refinements, the most significant of which is changing the performance cycle from July 1 through June 30 of each year to June 1 through May 31.
