An Order to Abandon a Portion of Enon School Road Which Has Been Discontinued for Maintenance and is Not Currently in the State Secondary Systems of Highways
Attached is a proposed Order to abandon a section of Enon School Road (Virginia Route 741) from its intersection with the southern boundary of a ten-acre parcel of land, identified as PIN #6957-97-7294, to its terminus (an estimated distance of 0.20 miles).
On March 18, 2002, the Board of Supervisors directed the County Administrator to take all actions necessary to institute the road abandonment for a portion of Enon School Road. The proposed section to be abandoned has been discontinued for state maintenance, and is not currently in the State Secondary System of Highways. The County has followed the road abandonment process, provided 30 days notice and advertisement of its intention to abandon, posted the property, and has received no requests to hold a public hearing on the request, nor any objection to the proposed abandonment. As a result, the Fauquier County Transportation Committee unanimously recommended that the section of road be abandoned.
