ALTERNATIVE 1 

RESOLUTION 

 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REVISION OF HUMAN RESOURCES POLICY 17, EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION 

WHEREAS, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors recognizes the need and the importance of evaluating employee job performance; and

WHEREAS, the Employee Performance Evaluation Policy provides the means whereby the performance of each Fauquier County Government employee is evaluated; and 

WHEREAS, the Performance Evaluation Policy includes a provision for periodic review of the Fauquier County Government performance evaluation system; and

WHEREAS, such a review was conducted with a resulting recommendation made

to reduce the number of employee performance rating categories from six to three; and

WHEREAS, such a reduction in rating categories results in the following categories remaining:

                                    Exceeds Standards

                                                Meets Standards

                                                Does Not Meet Standards;

; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 21st day of October 2002, That the revisions made to Human Resources Policy 17, Employee Performance Evaluation, be approved effective October 21, 2002.
