ALTERNATIVE 1 

RESOLUTION 

 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REVISION OF HUMAN RESOURCES POLICY 17, EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION 

WHEREAS, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors recognizes the need and the importance of evaluating employee job performance; and

WHEREAS, the Employee Performance Evaluation Policy provides the means whereby the performance of each Fauquier County Government employee is evaluated; and 

WHEREAS, the Performance Evaluation Policy includes a provision for periodic review of the Fauquier County Government performance evaluation system; and

WHEREAS, such a review was conducted with a resulting recommendation made

to reduce the number of employee performance rating categories from six to three; and

WHEREAS, such a reduction in rating categories results in the following categories remaining:

                                    Exceeds Standards

                                                Meets Standards

                                                Does Not Meet Standards;

; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 21^st day of October 2002, That the revisions made to Human Resources Policy 17, Employee Performance Evaluation, be approved effective October 21, 2002.
