A Resolution to Amend a Previously Approved Purchase of Development Rights Application

Topic Description:

On July 21, 2003, the Fauquier County  Board of Supervisors approved the first round of applications under the Purchase of Development Rights (PDR) program.  One of those applicants had offered three parcels, identified as PIN 6879-12-7845, PIN 6879-10-9751, and PIN 6879-24-9800, to be conveyed in easement (with a total of 19 development rights offered for these parcels). The applicant has subsequently requested that only the parcel identified as PIN 6879-24-9800 be conveyed in easement at this time (with 9 development rights offered for this parcel).

The PDR Committee recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve this change and that, in order for the applicant to proceed with conveyance in easement on the remaining two parcels, the applicant must submit a new application in the next application cycle.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

Payment of $380,000 ($20,000 for each of 19 development rights) is reduced to $180,000 ($20,000 for each of 9 development rights).
