PROCLAMATION

A PROCLAMATION TO RECOGNIZE THE FACULTY AND STAFF OF M. M. PIERCE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR THEIR COURAGEOUS ACTIONS AND SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY DURING THE RECENT TORNADO

            WHEREAS, on September 17, 2004, Fauquier County experienced a severe tornado, which posed a threat to the life and safety of County residents; and

            WHEREAS, during the course of the tornado, the faculty, staff, and students of M. M. Pierce Elementary School in Remington faced extremely hazardous conditions; and

            WHEREAS, in response to this threat, the faculty and staff of M.M. Pierce demonstrated courage, level-headedness and admirable concern for their students and fellow citizens; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to commend the faculty and staff of M.M. Pierce Elementary School for their actions; now, therefore, be it

            PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 10th day of November 2004, That the faculty and staff of M.M. Pierce Elementary School are hereby recognized and commended.
