A Resolution to Adopt the Classification and Compensation Pay Plan for Fauquier County Government Employees
Classification and Compensation Plan needed to be reviewed and revised
to reflect changes in the current market. An estimated 250 classified
positions were included in the evaluation. Introductory meetings with
management, employee orientation, and management interviews were held;
each position was audited and classified; class specifications,
qualification standards and pay scales were prepared; and a salary
survey was conducted. Employees and management, at varying stages of
development, have reviewed DRAFT class specifications.
Thirty-two percent of current County employee salaries will be adjusted to reflect the new grade‑appropriate minimum salary. The final summary documentation is now presented for full Board approval.
Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:
Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
Fiscal Impact Analysis:
The total yearly fiscal impact is $521,442. Half year impact is $261,000.
General Fund impact beginning January 1, 2006 is $229,000.
Environmental Services Fund impact beginning January 1, 2006 is $18,000.
Warrenton Fauquier Joint Communication Center (WFJCC) Fund impact beginning January 1, 2006 is $15,000.
Funding to support the General Fund element of this action was approved as part of the FY 2006 Adopted Budget. Environmental Services and WFJCC Funds will have adequate revenue to support their portion of this action.
