Topic: 

A Resolution to Authorize the County Administrator to Enter into a Contract with Airfield Services, LLC, for the Lease and Operation of an Aircraft Maintenance Concession at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport

Topic Description:

The current lease of the maintenance facility of the airport expires on December 31, 2009.  Airfield Services, LLC, has leased the facility and provided maintenance services since September 2007 when the Airport Committee recommended and the Board authorized the assignment of aviation maintenance services from Essar to Airfield Services, LLC.

The Airport Committee has reviewed the request of Airfield Services, LLC, to continue to provide aviation maintenance services.  At this time there is strong approval of the services and support provided by Airfield Services, LLC.  The Airport Committee has recommended that the five-year lease be authorized.  It provides lease payments of $1,000 per month for the first two and a half years of the term and then escalates to $1,200 per month for the balance of the lease.  Airfield Services, LLC, is responsible for all utility costs.  The proposed contract is attached.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Conduct the public hearing and consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

Rental income to be provided to the Airport Fund in the amount of $12,000 annually and then escalating to $14,400 for the remaining 30 months of the agreement.
