A Resolution Authorizing the Waiver of Health Department, Building Official and Zoning Official Fees for the Virginia Gold Cup Association’s International Gold Cup Races

Topic Description:

The Virginia Gold Cup Association, which is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, conducts the International Gold Cup races in the fall of each year.  The Virginia Gold Cup Association pays permitting and inspection fees to the Fauquier County Health Department for temporary privies, and permitting and inspections fees to the Fauquier County Building Official and the Fauquier County Zoning Official for tents used at the event.  Due to economic situations, the Virginia Gold Cup Association is requesting that the County waive the fees of the Health Department, the Fauquier County Building Official and the Fauquier County Zoning Official which total $3,015.40.

The Great Meadows Foundation is a non-profit organization which conducts among other events it annual Fourth of July Celebration.  The Foundation did incur $1035.00 in permitting and inspection fees to the Fauquier County Health Department for temporary privies which amount is still unpaid.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The fiscal impact of this action would be $1,290.00 for Fauquier County Health Department permitting and inspection fees, $1,650.40 for Fauquier County Building Official permitting and inspections fees, and $75.00 for Fauquier County Zoning Official zoning permit fee for a total fee waiver of $3,015.40 associated with the International Gold Cup and an additional $1035.00 associated with the Great Meadows Fourth of July Celebration.
