RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER OF HEALTH DEPARTMENT, BUILDING OFFICIAL AND ZONING OFFICIAL FEES FOR THE VIRGINIA GOLD CUP ASSOCIATION’S INTERNATIONAL GOLD CUP RACES AND THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT FEES FOR THE GREAT MEADOWS FOUNDATION FOURTH OF JULY EVENT WHEREAS, the Virginia Gold Cup Association is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization; and WHEREAS, the Virginia Gold Cup Association conducts the International Gold Cup races in the fall of each year; and WHEREAS, as a result of conducting that event, the Virginia Gold Cup Association pays fees to the Fauquier County Health Department for the permitting and inspection of temporary privies, and permitting and inspection fees to the Fauquier County Building Official and the Fauquier County Zoning Official for tents used at the event; and WHEREAS, the Virginia Gold Cup Association has requested, due to the economic recession, that the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors consider waiving those fees; and WHEREAS, the Health Department’s fees for the permitting and inspection of the temporary privies for this event are $1,290.00; and WHEREAS, the Fauquier County Building Official’s fees for the permitting and inspection of tents for this event are $1,650.40; and WHEREAS, the Fauquier County Zoning Official’s zoning permit fee for the tents for this event is $75.00; and, WHEREAS, the Great Meadows Foundation conducted the 2009 Fourth of July Event at Great Meadows and incurred $1,035.00 in permitting and inspection fees for temporary privies which are still due and owning; and WHEREAS by the adoption of this resolution the Board of Supervisors has determined that due to the extraordinary economic conditions existing this year it is in the best interest of the County to waive these aforesaid fees; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 12th day of November 2009, That the Board of Supervisors does hereby determine it to be in the best interest of the County to waive the Health Department, Building Official and Zoning Official fees totaling $3,015.40 associated with the permitting and inspection of the temporary privies and tents for the International Gold Cup races and $1035.00 in Health Department fees associated with the permitting and inspection of the temporary privies for the Great Meadows Foundation 2009 Fourth of July Event.
