A Resolution to Request the
Commonwealth Transportation Board to Establish a Project for
Acquisition of Property for a Pedestrian and Bicycle Trail

Topic Description: |

The Parks & Recreation
Department is applying for a Transportation Enhancement
grant to provide funds to purchase land to extend the
existing Warrenton Branch Greenway bicycle/pedestrian trail.
A portion of the property to be acquired for this extension
is being donated by the owner.

Requested Action of the
Board of Supervisors:

Conduct a public hearing and
consider adoption of the attached
resolution. |

Financial Impacts Analysis: |
|
The value of the land
donated for this bicycle/pedestrian trail will offset the
local match required. Funding for maintenance required
after completion of the trail will be identified in the
appropriate fiscal year’s departmental operating budget. It
is estimated maintenance costs will be approximately $2,000
per year for bushhogging, erosion repairs, etc. |
