Topic:

A Resolution Adding Portions of Routes 610 and 602, Abandoning a Portion of Route 602, and Renumbering Portions of Route 602

Topic Description:

Due to the relocation of and construction on Route 28, the Virginia Department of Transportation has determined that portions of Routes 602 and 610 that were realigned need to be addressed.  The attached resolution adds the new sections of Routes 610 and 602, and renumbers portions of Route 602.  In addition, the attached resolution abandons a portion of the old location of Route 602 which no longer serves a public need.  On August 26, 2009, the Virginia Department of Transportion notified Fauquier County of their intention to transfer portions of the old alignment of Route 28 to the Secondary System of State Highways.  Details as to the addition, renumbering and abandonment of portions of Routes 610 and 602 are shown on the attached map provided by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
