Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of Fauquier County
Supporting the Strategies Proposed by the Stakeholder
Advisory Committee Related to Hunting with Hounds in
Virginia |
|
Topic Description: |
|
The
Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is
currently studying the use of Hunting with Hounds in
Virginia. In order to complete that study, the Department
created a Stakeholder Advisory Committee. The Committee
consists of representatives from various hunting groups,
private landowners, law enforcement, and other
recreational-related individuals. The Stakeholder Advisory
Committee focused on concerns related to hound trespass, the
right-to-retrieve, hunting from the road, and the violations
of existing laws. The Stakeholder Advisory Committee has
issued a series of recommended strategies, which are
attached to this agenda request. The County has been
requested to adopt a resolution supporting and recommending
these strategies to the Committee. |
