PROCLAMATION
A PROCLAMATION TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR TOM W. REESE, JR. WHEREAS, in 1993, the Board of Supervisors established the Fauquier County Disability Services Board pursuant to Code of Virginia, Chapter 10, Section 51.5-47 and 51.5-51; and WHEREAS, Tom W. Reese, Jr. was appointed by the Board of Supervisors to the Fauquier County Disability Services Board at its initial meeting on May 12, 1993, and was re-appointed to the Board in 1998, serving as a representative from the 9-1-1 Center; and WHEREAS, on January 12, 2005, Mr. Reese was elected Chairman of the Disability Services Board of Fauquier County and served in that capacity until health issues forced his resignation in January of 2007; and WHEREAS, while Chairman of the Disability Services Board of Fauquier County, Mr. Reese’s many accomplishments include the complete accessibility inspection and report on all polling places in Fauquier County, an inspection and report on all Post Offices in Fauquier County, and officially formed three subcommittees; and WHEREAS, Mr. Reese continues to serve the citizens of Fauquier County as a volunteer for the Disability Services Board, assisting as requested; now, therefore, be it PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 13th day of November 2008, That Tom W. Reese, Jr. be, and is hereby, recognized for his long commitment and good service to the citizens of Fauquier County, particularly advocating and assisting those citizens with physical and sensory disabilities and their families.
