A Resolution to Amend the FY 2004 - 2008 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) – Route 605 Park

Topic Description:

During a public hearing on September 15, 2003, on the Raymond Farm rezoning issue, the Board of Supervisors discussed a proposed proffer of land and buildings. The Code of Virginia states that to accept cash, land or structures for public use, through a proffer, they must be related to projects in an adopted capital plan prior to acceptance. To provide the Board of Supervisors greater flexibility in consideration of the Raymond Farm rezoning issue, staff was directed to schedule a public hearing on amending the FY 2004 - FY 2008 Capital Improvements Program. The amendment is for a park at the intersection of Routes 605 and 29, adjacent to Rick Hunt Ford. This change is highlighted on the attached chart. The $525,000 represents the assessed value of approximately 27 acres of land and a capital outlay ($105,000) to construct a limited use park.  

On October 20, 2003, a public hearing was held to solicit comments on this proposed action.

A proposed resolution to amend the CIP is attached.

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
