A Resolution to Amend the Board of Supervisorsí Policy Relating to the Allocation of Revenue from the Construction and Demolition Debris Landfill

Topic Description:

The attached resolution responds to unanticipated costs associated with the operation of the final eight arce construction and demolition cell at the old landfill, increased closure, post-closure and cash reserve requirements and in anticipation of the implementation of a State-wide solid waste tipping fee surcharge. The resolution would amend the Board of Supervisorsí policy relating to the reimbursement of Town tipping fees, to provide that, effective December 1, 2003 , that it shall apply only to Towns with population of 3,000 or less as of the 2000 United States Census.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

This amendment will increase net earnings in the Solid Waste Enterprise Fund by approximately $180,000 per year.
