Topic             Amendments to the Board of Supervisors Legislative Proposals for the 2003 General Assembly

Description

Each year the Board of Supervisors approves its legislative proposals for the upcoming legislative year.  The adopted legislative plan is used as a lobbying guide by members of the Board of Supervisors and County staff and serves to convey to our local General Assembly Delegation the County’s official position on matters under consideration by the General Assembly. This document also assists the Virginia Association of Counties, the Virginia Municipal League and other local government-related associations and groups in determining their statewide legislative priorities. This plan which originally adopted on June 17, 2002 is fluid and may be amended during the year as new issues are identified.

In addition, Eldon James, the County's Legislative Liaison, will provide a general update to the Board of Supervisors on issues relating to the State's budget  reductions and the upcoming General Assembly Session.
